Managing your students' music lesson schedules helps you stay organized as a music teacher. MusicTeacherNotes has the tools a music teacher needs to optimize and manage any music lesson schedule. Being able to quickly and easily see all your students' personal information helps you stay organized as a music teacher. Within seconds, you can see all of the students you have, their next scheduled lesson, their previous lesson, and their contact information.
The Monthly Calendar provides an accessible overview of your monthly music lesson schedule. You can easily see the days you have music lessons scheduled and those you do not. You can also see how many students you have planned for music lessons each day. Clicking on a day that you teach lessons will open the Daily Calendar and show you details of the lessons you have on a given day.
The Daily Calendar shows you all the students you have scheduled to teach that day. You can see the instruments your students are learning, the time of their lesson, and more. Also, if you teach for more than one studio, you can see the studio your students are taking lessons from.
The Lesson View allows you to see lesson details for a student's lesson. You can see what the student was assigned in their previous lesson and assess their progress if you wish. You can assign additional tasks for their next lesson, which they can then turn into a structured practice plan. You can also add notes and resources for the student to review before returning for their next lesson. The lesson notes feature is also beneficial for online music lessons because you can share Zoom or Skype invitations, sheet music, video, and more.
The Music Journals are records of all the assignments you've given your students from previous lessons. You can add journal assignments yourself, or your students can add them. Music Journals help you and your students look back at songs assigned in the past, so they can be reviewed whenever necessary.
It is often necessary to remind students or parents of something they need to bring to a lesson or of a task they need to accomplish. The Reminders feature allows you to do that. For example, if a student or parent owes you a payment or borrows a music book, you could create a reminder. Students or parents see the reminders in their accounts and are more likely to remember to take care of the item or issue you mentioned.
Sometimes students forget lessons. Notifications alert students of upcoming lessons, reducing no-shows. Students will be prompted to confirm or cancel their next lesson before their next scheduled lesson begins. If the parent or student cancels their next lesson, you have the option to display your customized cancellation policy. Displaying your customized cancellation policy allows you to share your cancellation rules so there are no misunderstandings.
The Availability Calendar shows potential new students the times you are available to teach. But it’s more than that. It’s a lead generation tool, as well. When students find times they’d like to request lessons from you, they can click the Request Lesson button, fill out their information and the times they’d prefer to take lessons. You will see this in your account, and you can contact them to schedule their lesson.
