When students miss their music lessons, it's not only frustrating, it's costly. A time slot that could have been used for another student is wasted. Your music lesson schedule on MusicTeacherNotes syncs to your students' accounts. In other words, when you schedule music lessons in your MusicTeacherNotes teacher account, your connected students see it in their family accounts. Students use their Calendars when creating practice plans and logging practice. Their calendars also show them the days their lessons are scheduled and give them the ability to cancel or confirm a lesson.
When a lesson is approaching, students are asked to confirm that they plan to attend. If they confirm it, you know they are aware of the upcoming lesson; they aren’t as likely to forget about it. If a student cannot make a lesson, they can cancel online. This has two benefits. First, it makes you immediately aware of the cancellation. Second, it shows the student your cancellation policy so they are aware of what happens when they cancel. You simply add your cancellation policy to MusicTeacherNotes, and your students see it when they click the "cancel lesson" button. This simple act reduces cancellations and helps you avoid awkward situations because of students who frequently skip lessons.
Being able to communicate quickly and easily with students can help them avoid missing important events and information. For example, if a schedule change happens, you could create some scheduled messages to remind the student of the schedule change so it doesn’t slip their mind. You can also use messages to make students aware of upcoming recitals or other events.
