As a music teacher, I’ve been offering private lessons in bass guitar, upright bass, guitar, and ukulele for over two decades. My teaching philosophy focuses on making lessons enjoyable and tailored to each student’s unique goals, whether that involves learning to read music, developing ear training, composing, exploring theory, or simply having fun mastering new songs and techniques. I offer both in-studio lesson in my Minneapolis studio and online lessons anywhere, and I welcome all learning styles.
A little about me: I’ve been playing music since I was seven, and my professional career started at 16 when I began performing upright bass for the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. After high school, I continued my music studies in bass performance at Music Tech in Minneapolis. For over 20 years, I’ve been the bassist for the indie power-pop band The Melismatics, with whom I’ve released seven albums, toured across the U.S. and internationally, and performed at major festivals like Lollapalooza, Summerfest, SXSW, and NXNE. I’ve also toured with various music projects in the U.S., Japan, and the UAE.

MusicTeacherNotes helps music teachers manage their students and helps students learn music faster. By empowering parents and students to get much more out of private music lessons, learning music becomes a better experience for everyone.
