Hello! I teach violin lessons for adults, children ages 6-17, and children ages 3-5 with a parent as a practice partner. I also offer cello lessons beginning at age six and viola lessons for children beginning at age 12. Violin is my primary instrument. I began taking lessons at the age of six. While my training was primarily in classical music, I prefer to play traditional gospel and contemporary worship. I have performed as a soloist as well as with small and large ensembles including public school, youth, university, and community orchestra programs. I now work as a freelance musician. My first students were middle school and high school orchestra students I tutored when I was in high school. I began teaching professionally after college, in 2012. I offered lessons in a brick-and-mortar studio and in homes until 2018, when I began teaching exclusively online.

Students (Parents for younger students) will need to register for a free MusicTeacherNotes account. If you are a current student of mine at Treble Strings and haven't registered your MusicTeacherNotes account, please click the orange button below. You will use the studio code (PENKJ) to connect your family account to my teacher account.
MusicTeacherNotes is free for students. They have an upgradable option available, called the Gold Plan, but upgrading is not required. I can manage our music lessons whether you use their free account or their Gold account.
MusicTeacherNotes helps music teachers manage their students and helps students learn music faster. By empowering parents and students to get much more out of private music lessons, learning music becomes a better experience for everyone.
