Hello! My name is Sheila Umbs. I love teaching students the art of music! As a violinist, and music teacher, I adapt and implement my teaching methods tailored to each student personally. I introduce and reinforce musical concepts and skills in a patient, enthusiastic, and creative manner that encourages the student to progress on their instrument. In addition to equipping my students with a solid foundation, I incorporte skill sets to develop proper technique. My students are empowered as they learn, and develop great communication skills and confidence. Building a musical foundation enables me to help the student foster a lasting curiosity for learning and a genuine love for the imaginative and expressive capabilities of music.

MusicTeacherNotes is free for students. They have an upgradable option available, called the Gold Plan, but upgrading is not required. I can manage our music lessons whether you use their free account or their Gold account.
