Hello, I'm ToniAnne McGuire. Your next private music instructor. I have been teaching for over 40 years and have been a composer since the 4th grade. As a composer I have had two of my String Orchestra pieces to be performed. March of 2023 "Tango for String Orchestra" was premiered by the Arlington Concert Orchestra under the baton of Veronica Jackson in Arlington, VA. On October 13, 2024 "Cha Cha" was premiered by the Alexandria Chamber Music Society at the Alexandria History Museum at the Lyceum in Old Town Alexandria, VA. I have taught students and judged piano and string events in the United States and in China. I currently teach both online students in my own studio and through Arlington Community Learning, adult education that is part of Arlington Public Schools in Arlington, VA. What makes me different is I teach using my spiral method. This is a mix of incremental learning of new skills with a good amount of review. Students young and old thrive with this method as they gain confidence in their playing abilities. Students are taught from where they are. I don't reinvent what you already know, but together we unlock the mysteries of more skills. If you are new to music study, you will get the best start possible in music. Toni has been playing music since the age of 4. When she taught herself to play piano on a toy keyboard her mother gave her. She started playing the violin at 8 and was introduced to composition by her teacher.
