With a Premium membership, you'll be able to schedule lessons, manage students, share videos and other documents with students, send messages and newsletters to your students and their parents, and manage all of the payments for your music studio. While free memberships don't give you everything a Premium membership does, free memberships do allow you to manage students' lessons, view students' lesson journals, and have a music teacher directory listing.
Unlike other music lesson management software systems that list teachers under studios, MusicTeacherNotes allows teachers to associate themselves with the studios they work for. While teachers can grant viewing privileges to managers, the account remains under the teacher's control—a tool designed for simplifying their lives.
Adding multiple studios or providing manager access doesn't incur extra charges. Therefore, whether a teacher's studio uses different software, MusicTeacherNotes is a supportive tool for music educators.

A Premium Directory Listing stands out more than a Basic Directory Listing, and it shows at the top of the listing results.
MusicTeacherNotes directory is designed to stay up-to-date. Whenever a teacher logs in to MusicTeacherNotes, we assume it means you are an active music teacher. That keeps your listing alive. Also, it is for individual music teachers. Studios do not add listings. Music teachers do. Music teachers own their listings. Teachers can add the studios they work for to their listing. This means your directory listing is yours, no matter where you work.

Managing a music school isn’t easy, and one of the tasks that teachers typically least enjoy is managing the charges, payments, and other financial transactions that music students incur.
There are several issues why teachers struggle with managing payments and bookkeeping:
Tracking payments can be time-consuming.
Fees or charges sometimes get forgotten or overlooked.
It can be awkward to ask students for payments.
There could be disagreements about what a student or parent owes the teacher.
Bookkeeping and accounting software can be expensive.
We have the solution to all of these issues. MusicTeacherNotes tracks all payments, charges, credits, discounts, and refunds. As a result, teachers can see at a glance what students or parents owe. Forgotten payments are a common issue, and MusicTeacherNotes solves the problem by automating transactions and providing an easy-to-read summary of what every student owes. In addition, if a student or parent owes money, they can be invoiced, helping you avoid awkward conversations with parents or students who are behind on their payments. Invoicing parents or students is a snap, and invoicing allows everyone to see every transaction. Finally, the MusicTeacherNotes accounting and payment system will enable teachers to discontinue their current expensive payment software.
MusicTeachersNotes helps music teachers organize the not-so-fun part of their music lesson business so they can spend more time just teaching music.
Payment tracking

Avoid forgotten payments with music lesson invoicing. Invoices are easy to set up and will streamline you payment collection system.
Scheduling System
Easily schedule your students, so there is no confusion on your end or your students' end. All of the students at all of the studios you teach are conveniently displayed on one calendar.
You can manage everything from one account, even if you teach at several music studios and have students spread between them.
The Monthly Lesson Calendar
Lesson Manager
Managing a lesson with MusicTeacherNotes is a breeze. Whether you are teaching online or in-person, you can organize every lesson. Add assignments for the student to practice, share notes and resources from your Private Library, and view their previous lesson. Notes could be things like ZOOM, Skype, or meeting invitations, or anything you want a student to know for a lesson. Resources could be videos of you demonstrating songs, documents you wish to share, or web links.
Availability Calendar
A music teacher's Availability Calendar is a calendar that teachers can share with students or potential students, so they know when a teacher is available to schedule music lessons.
When families can pick the most ideal time to schedule lessons they are much more likely to stick with music lessons longterm.
Lesson Requests
Students can request lessons from you online. Students can see exactly when you are available to teach based on your scheduled lessons and the availability you set. You'll develop students leads that allow you to grow your music teaching business. When student can pick the lesson slots that work best for their busy schedules, they are much more likely to continue taking lessons.
When families can pick the most ideal time to schedule lessons they are much more likely to stick with music lessons longterm.
Reminder Manager
Reminders allow you to inform your students to remember things, like upcoming recitals, music books you've loaned out, or forgotten payments. Reminders that you set as a teacher will display on parent accounts and student accounts, making them hard to miss. You can send a reminder to one student or to multiple students. The Reminders feature lets music teachers notify students about forgotten items or issues in a friendly way, avoiding the awkwardness of having to ask students for things.
View Student Journals
See and review all of the student journals, remotely. You can use this to be ready for a lesson before the student shows up...
Message Students and Families
Messaging is easy with MusicTeacherNotes. You no longer need to message students individually via text messages. MusicTeacherNotes lets you message students directly from your teacher account. You can select one student, a few students, or all students. Messages automatically go to email and text messages. It's a fast and easy way to notify students about anything having to do with music lessons.
Bring Students Back
If students stop scheduling lessons, this feature can bring them back into the music lesson routine. The system recognizes that they haven't scheduled lessons, and it prompts you to recover them. The system will email them and text message them on a schedule until they return.
Manage Repertoire Songs
Easily manage repertoire songs so your students remember to practice the songs they need to, even if not specifically assigned after a music lesson.
Teachers can manage repertoire songs for each of their students.
Repertoire songs help students have a consistent list of songs to practice, in addition to new skills learned at each music lesson.
If your student has connected to your account then the parents and student can also see, add, and edit repertoire songs in the same manner.
Repertoire songs are very helpful for students because of how the Practice Plan feature works on family accounts.
On family accounts, repertoire songs display on the practice plan so they can easily be assigned for practice each time a new practice plan is created.
Auto-cancellation policy
Avoid awkward, uncomfortable conversations about what happens when students cancel a lesson. When you add your cancellation policy it automatically displays when a student cancels a lesson. It also automatically sends an email to the student or student's parent when lessons are cancelled. The benefit is that students always know what your cancellation policy is.
Local Search Optimization
One of the best ways to get new music students is via local search. Local search is the part of a search engine results page that displays when you type a location or "near me" query into Google or some other search engine. For example, when a potential student types, "guitar lessons near me," you want to show up if you are near them and teach guitar. MusicTeacherNotes has tools to help you get more out of local search.
Testimonial Autopilot
This feature helps your music studio automatically get reviews from students. Part of local search optimization is getting reviews. But asking parents and students to review you or give you testimonials can be awkward. We take the awkwardness out of it. Teachers simply choose the students they want to get reviews from, provide the link to their Google listing, and MusicTeacherNotes notifies them to give you a review.
What is a Gold Student?
Gold students are students who have full access to all of the features on MusicTeacherNotes. Music teachers who register with Traditional Billing automatically give Gold Accounts to all of their students. If a teacher registers with Easy-Scale Billing, each student pays a small monthly fee to have a Gold Account, if they wish.
If students need the Gold Plan features, they can upgrade for a very low fee. You can see the students' Gold Plan pricing and features here. It is entirely optional for students to upgrade to a Gold Plan. Students who do not require Gold Features can opt for the free Bronze Plan. As long as ten or more of your students upgrade to Gold, you get the service for free.
